I’m a big proponent of 12 Step programs. Practicing the principles helps me stay present, transparent, humble, and focused on what truly matters. It offers a healthy perspective on life — one rooted in honesty, open-mindedness, accountability, growth, and service to others.
As a young girl, I wrote in a book that I wanted to be a judge — not sure what prompted me to write that, but I’ve always felt a deep pull toward helping people and rooting for the underdog.

As a young girl, I wrote in a book that I wanted to be a judge — not sure what prompted me to write that, but I’ve always felt a deep pull toward helping people and rooting for the underdog.
However, when I was about to graduate high school, I had just come through my rebellious teenage years and had little direction. I was even discouraged from attending college.

From there, I soaked in the country’s beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality, and ended my journey with a powerful visit to Nelson Mandela’s prison, reflecting on the resilience and history that shaped a nation.
I’ve crossed the finish line of seven marathons — proof that persistence, discipline, and a willingness to push past limits can take you farther than you ever imagined.
Leading Lady Against All Odds
In high school, I played the leading role of Rosie in my high school’s musical Bye Bye Birdie — despite being completely tone deaf. It taught me that heart, courage, and showing up fully matter far more than perfection.
