Born in Jamaica, West Indies, and a proud Queens, New York resident since 1978, Mary‑Ann Maloney’s life reflects hard work, perseverance, and service to others. Her journey from immigrant to seasoned legal professional has shaped her belief that justice must be delivered with both integrity and humanity.
For over 28 years, Mary‑Ann has served in pivotal legal and judicial roles, including:
• Administrative Law Judge
• Assistant Commissioner for Administrative Hearings
• Executive Director of Administrative Hearings
• Director of Fair Hearings
• Family Court Attorney
In these positions, she has advocated effectively in complex and sensitive matters, presided over thousands of cases, managed high‑volume tribunals, led large teams of attorneys and staff, and implemented reforms that improved fairness, efficiency, and transparency. She has resolved significant case backlogs, developed continuing legal education programs, and worked to make the legal process more accessible for all.
Mary‑Ann’s work has spanned matters involving public safety, transportation, medical assistance, child welfare, and housing — always guided by the principles of fairness, impartiality, and respect for every individual.
